For our 2024 conference, we are aware of the implications of the Amended National State Enterprises Bill. As you know, state-owned corporations (SOCs) play a pivotal role in igniting and sustaining economic growth. To address this critical topic, we are collaborating with Henley Business School and PwC to develop a concept paper that will frame the thematic areas of the conference.
Meet the Speakers
Prof. Bonang Mohale (Bidvest Chair and keynote speaker at our 2023 conference)
He is Professor of Practice in the Johannesburg Business School (JBS) College of Business and Economics, and Chairman of the Bidvest Group Limited.
He is a highly respected South African businessman, known as much for his patriotism as for his active role in advancing the country’s interests. He is author of the best-selling book, Lift as You Rise, launched in November 2018.

Mr. Alan Mukoki (CEO, South African Chamber of Commerce, and Industries - SACCI)
Alan Mukoki has had many years’ experience working as a senior executive, board level executive and non-executive director for various major private and public entities in South Africa including, amongst others, Khula Finance, Business Partners, Peoples Bank, Land and Agricultural Bank, Nedbank, Denel. Alan studied at the University of Oxford, where he graduated with both the Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Strategy, as well as the Master of Science (MSc) in Mega Projects Management.

Mr. Martin Kingston (Former Chair at Rothschild & Co)
Martin Kingston is the former Executive Chairman at Rothschild & Co South Africa (Pty) Ltd and Partner of the Rothschild & Co Group with responsibility for Africa. Prior to joining Rothschild & Co in 2007, Martin worked at Morgan Grenfell, advancing to Executive Chairman and Head of Global Banking, Deutsche Bank, South Africa.
Martin has over four decades of global experience in Investment Banking.Martin holds a BA (Hons) from Durham University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Mr. Khulekani Mathe (CEO, Business Unity South Africa - BUSA)
Mr Khulekani Mathe is a senior general manager in the banking industry. He is an Experienced policy-maker with demonstrated history of working in the Government sector. Veteran adult education practitioner, with many years experience in the NGO sector, skilled in sustainable development, Analytical Skills, Governance, Programme evaluation, Spatial planning and Social Policy. He possesses a Master of Science (MSC) degree in Development Finance from the University of Manchester, Institute of Development Policy and Management.

Prof. Jonathan Forster Pedley (Dean and Director at Henley Business School)
Jon Foster-Pedley is Dean and Director of Henley Business School Africa, part of the internationally quadruple accredited Henley Business School of the University of Reading UK. He is the chair of the Association of African Business Schools, chair of the British Chamber of Business in Southern Africa, a Distinguished Professor at Woxsen University India and a life Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK. Jon was formerly an airline and aerobatic pilot and an executive in the European aerospace industry.

Mr. Gregory Mofokeng (VP Organized Business, Black Business Council - BBC)
Gregory Mofokeng is the Vice President of Organised Business and the Black Business Council in the Built Environment (BBCBE) CEO. He represents the Black Business Council at NEDLAC and the BRICS Business Council’s Infrastructure Working Group. He sits on the Construction Industry Development Board’s National Stakeholder Forum (CIDB NSF) on behalf of the BBCBE. Mofokeng is the chairman of Tysys Capital Group, Tusk Construction Support Services, and m2g Investment Holdings and a Motheo Construction Group board member. He also serves as the President of the BIM Institute (Building Information Modelling).
